"Anything That Burns You": Terese Svoboda Talk & Reading

We are delighted to bring you a talk and reading by the acclaimed poet, author, and biographer Terese Svoboda. She will be presenting her new biography, Anything That Burns You: A Portrait of Lola Ridge, Radical Poet, a timely book on an important Irish-American feminist writer. "This is a rich and detailed account of the life and world of Lola Ridge, poet, artist, editor, and activist for the cause of women's rights, workers' rights, racial equality and social reform."

The event will take place Monday, October 10 at 7 PM in the James Joyce Centre, 35 North Great Georges Street, Dublin 1.

A recent Guggenheim fellow, Terese Svoboda is the author of 18 books of poetry, fiction, translation, memoir, and biography. Her most recent book of poetry is Professor Harriman's Steam Air-Ship (Eyewear 2016). When The Next Big War Blows Down The Valley: Selected and New Poems (Anhinga) was published last year.

Her short stories, Live Sacrifice (Ravenna), appear next year.

Svoboda's work has been published in the UK in such magazines as TLS, Wolf, Southword, and Salvage.
